Toolkit for Local Workshops and Seminars with Stakeholders

The Toolkit for Local Workshops and Seminars with Stakeholders brings together four complementary resources that support socially situated design learning across SArPe partner institutions. Developed through teaching studios, live projects and public events in Pavia, Málaga, Istanbul and Delft, the toolkit offers adaptable formats for engaging communities, educators and students in collaborative architectural practices.

The Italian toolkit, led by UniPv, documents a sequence of local workshops in Locate di Triulzi, including semi-structured interviews with associations, psychogeographical dérive, role-play, scenario planning and a final public exhibition–workshop on a new urban park.

The Spanish seminar toolkit (UMA) focuses on organising “seminarios sobre prácticas docentes” with stakeholders, detailing preparation, session formats, rapid processing of results and dissemination strategies, supported by registration forms, consent templates and multichannel communication models.

The Turkish toolkit (ITU) introduces a set of situated methods for studio teaching – from critical storytelling and mapping to queering the archive, assemblage drawing, experimental film-making and game-based design – structured around the phases of Idea, Understanding and Design.

The TU Delft toolkit compiles engaged urbanism tools such as stakeholder and power–interest mapping, situated personas, context and counter-mapping, walking interviews, observational drawing and pattern languages for situated interventions.

Together, these resources invite educators and communities to “make space with others”, offering a modular toolkit that can be recombined across local contexts and future SArPe activities.
