Repository of Tools and Methods – Poster Series
The Repository of Tools and Methods – Poster Series visualises a selection of socially situated techniques drawn from SArPe’s Repository and used across teaching studios, workshops and local engagements. Organised along three project stages – Understanding, Ideation and Implementation – and three pedagogical orientations – Cooperative & Collaborative Learning, Experiential Learning, Transformative & Radical Experiences – the posters invite learners and educators to combine methods according to specific spatial and community challenges.
Examples range from Photo Walks, affective and emotional mapping, participant observation and oral histories, to collaborative tools such as World Café, Planning Cells, expert panels, peer-to-peer feedback and the KJ/Affinity method. They are complemented by more experimental approaches – filmic mapping, personas, sociograms, synectics or 1:1 prototyping – that foreground negotiation, conflict and care in architectural learning processes.
Designed as accessible “at-a-glance” summaries, the posters support course design, workshop facilitation and community-based studios. They offer a shared language for SArPe partners and local stakeholders to discuss how different tools redistribute agency in design, who is involved in decision-making and how situated knowledge can reshape curricula. The series is available in English, Italian, Spanish and Turkish, reflecting the project’s commitment to multilingual and locally grounded architectural pedagogy.
