multi-disciplinary
consortium

The SArPe project brings together a multi-disciplinary consortium of experts from the University of Pavia, the University of Malaga, Istanbul Technical University, and the TU Delft to promote collaborative and inclusive approaches to architectural education. This project aims to challenge traditional architectural roles and perspectives by working with people from diverse backgrounds and co-creating architectural knowledge.

The collaboration with the Zero Discrimination Organisation, which works to empower Roma communities in Turkey, and SpazioGioco, an organization based in Pavia that advocates for inclusive playgrounds, underscores the importance of creating synergies and having a strong impact while foregrounding civic values and ensuring participation.

Organisation

The project is led by UniPV and Ioanni Delsante, a senior research fellow in architectural and urban design. Guido Cimadomo, Associate Professor at the University of Malaga, brings expertise in urban transformations and community participation. The ITU Faculty of Architecture is represented by Associate Professor Aslihan Senel, who has extensive experience in curriculum development and EU projects. TU Delft is represented by Caroline Newton, who advocates for advocacy in planning and spatial practices, enabling alternative spatial imaginations.

SArPe's Goal

The ultimate goal of the SArPe project is to train architects in a collaborative and engaged co-creation practice that connects educators, learners, citizens, and societal partners. Through the development of international training courses, workshops, and a jointly built repository, the project aims to disseminate its results and provide access to educational resources for stakeholders to engage with each other and share their experiences. This project is expected to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among professionals, educators, and civil society organizations, fostering the development of a thriving and dynamic community of experts in ‘Socially Situated Design Education’.
