Notes and critical reflection on local workshops with external stakeholders – Borgo Ticino (PV)

The local workshop held in Pavia took place concurrently with the exhibition “SAPER ASCOLTARE (UN QUARTIERE) E PROGETTARE “DAL BASSO” (listening and planning from below)” on October 14-15, 2023, in collaboration with IT.A.CÀ – Responsible Tourism Festival, which, in its 15th national edition, is centred around the theme “A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY – Communities narrate the territories.”

The event was structured as a roundtable discussion aimed at revisiting and discussing the themes of the Architecture and Architectural Composition 1 course, which was developed from March 2023 to July 2023 in the historic Borgo Ticino neighborhood of Pavia, in collaboration with numerous stakeholders.

The roundtable was organized within the exhibition of the learners’ projects, located in the space of the municipal library. The event commenced with a viewing of various displayed materials, including videos, boards, portfolios, and physical models. The discussion was preceded by a brief introduction covering the general project themes, SArPe, as well as the Compo1 course, and featured a video compilation of the best dérive videos.

Following this, the roundtable discussion was an open conversation where participants shared ideas, points of view, and reflections on themes such as the city, the neighborhood, the role of the university, the power of the people, and the role of the learner, with Professor Ioanni Delsante serving as the conversation facilitator.
