Repository of Tools & Methods

The repository of socially situated methods and tools in architecture (Activity 2.3) initially builds upon the results obtained from the literature review (Activity 2.1: Setting the scene), encompassing both theoretical frameworks and studied teaching experiences. However, this repository is particularly focused on selecting documents related to best practices and pedagogical experiences identified from both the global database of experiences and the Spanish-language database.

The justification for conducting a detailed study of these teaching practices for the development of the repository (Activity 2.3) lies in the fact that analysing such experiences allows the methods and tools extracted from them to have real evaluation parameters, as they have already been applied within the educational field in the teaching of architecture. Therefore, from these experiences, strategies are extracted which, in addition to having been tested and shown to be innovative in their implementation, provide clear examples to the repository of how to implement them within the teaching activity.

It should be noted that the selection of documents from the two databases ‘Repository Experiences Global’ and ‘Repository Experiences Spanish’ are the result of the application of the Systematic Quantitative Literature Review Methodology (SQLR), which is developed in five steps detailed below. First step, formulation of exploratory research questions. Second step, a systematic process of iterative searches using keywords and phrases. Third step, identification of WoS and Scopus databases and application of filters in the research. Fourth step, initial evaluation process through review of the title, abstract and keywords determining their relevance to the topic and fifth step, second evaluation process reviewing the content in more detail to identify potential contributions of tools and methods.

Finally, a sixth step is added as a part of the methodology of the activity 2.3. Repository of tools and methods.
