Stakeholders mapping (locally in Pavia)
ITU University assumes the role of the primary facilitator in this endeavour, with the objective of discerning the most pertinent stakeholders at local, national, and international levels.
The University of Pavia is concurrently engaged in this undertaking, specifically in the context of its proximate geographical regions. The process of stakeholder identification encompasses a comprehensive qualitative appraisal of the public, private, and third sectors, with consideration given to their geographical presence and diversity.
In order to assess the level of interest and potential involvement of stakeholders in our project, we conducted a survey using an evaluative questionnaire. This tool was distributed among a wide range of key stakeholders, including representatives from non-profit organizations, institutions, local businesses, and other relevant stakeholders. The questionnaire was designed to provide an analysis of the level of interest, expectations, and potential modes of engagement of stakeholders in the proposed project.
The questionnaire was developed to collect information about the activities and topics pursued by individual groups, previous areas of intervention within the region, and those of future interest.
It was a tool through which we could develop an even broader network of actors, investigating collaborations among different stakeholders and, as a result, expanding both the participant list and interactions within the territory.
Alongside the initial schematic work, we are concurrently conducting a mapping exercise to identify and categorize the diverse stakeholders within the Pavia region. The primary objective is to create a more practical and user-friendly list of stakeholder names. The ability to link the name of an organization swiftly and easily with its branch is crucial for ensuring transparency and facilitating communication within the mapping process. Additionally, in addition to specifying the location, which may not always be a physical office, it’s equally important to delineate the operational area of each stakeholder. This is because behind each operational area, there exists a community, and it’s vital to discern which community each organization is engaging with. This information helps to identify the specific area associated with the empowered community that needs to be empowered.
